Composed of calcium alginate, carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), and ionic silver.
It has the property of absorbing wound exudate, transforming it into a gel.
The alginate fibers and CMC, in contact with the exudate, form a hydrophilic and non-adherent gel that provides a moist environment on the wound surface, promoting autolytic debridement and absorbing exudate, allowing removal without trauma, with little or no damage to newly formed tissue, thus creating a suitable environment for the healing process.
The moist wound environment and bacterial control contribute to the healing process and help reduce the risk of infection. By reducing the number of microorganisms in the wound, it also contributes to odor reduction.
