CASEX - SILVER HYDROFIBER DRESSING - is a dressing composed of sodium carboxymethylcellulose microfibers with 1.2% ionic silver. It is soft, sterile, easy to use, and highly absorbent. The hydrocolloid fibers interact with wound exudate and form a gel, while the silver creates an effective barrier against bacteria and inactivates a wide variety of yeast-related pathogens (bacteria and fungi). In moderately to highly exudative wounds, the dressing maintains a moist environment for healing and promotes autolytic debridement, being easy to remove and causing little or no damage to newly formed tissue. The moist wound environment and control of harmful bacteria aid the healing process and help reduce the risk of infection. The ionic silver contained in the dressing kills pathogenic microorganisms, breaks down and absorbs biofilm, preventing its formation/reorganization, and increasing the effectiveness of silver against microorganisms. CASEX - SILVER HYDROFIBER DRESSING acts as an antimicrobial barrier that protects the wound bed. It easily adapts to the contours of the lesion. CASEX - SILVER HYDROFIBER DRESSING should be used in conjunction with a secondary dressing. Sterilized by Ethylene Oxide and/or Gamma Ray.
